For part 2 of this Sainsmart series (part one is here) I am looking at machine over $1000. Once you cross that $1000 threshold, you’re entering the realm of more serious hobbyists and even prosumers. These machines are built with greater rigidity, precision, and power in mind, ready to tackle larger projects and tougher materials with confidence.

The PROVerXL Series: Stepping into Professional Territory The PROVerXL line represents SainSmart’s higher-end offerings, designed for those who demand more from their CNC machine.
If you’re truly looking for a leap in performance, the Genmitsu PROVerXL 4030 V2 is where it’s at. This version is a game-changer with its closed-loop NEMA 23 stepper motors and, crucially, ball screws on all axes. What does this translate to? Incredible precision, minimal backlash, and significantly higher rapid traverse speeds (up to 5000 mm/min). Closed-loop motors ensure that the machine knows its exact position, preventing skipped steps and improving accuracy on complex or demanding cuts. If you’re planning on intricate detailing, working with harder metals, or running longer, unattended jobs where reliability is paramount, the 4030 V2 justifies its price tag with its professional-grade motion system.
Both the V1 and V2 version of the PROVerXL 4030 machines have extension kits available for them meaning the machine can grow with you and your confidence.
Next we have the big daddy, the Genmitsu PROVerXL 6050 Plus. This machine pushes the boundaries of desktop CNCs with its massive 23.62″ x 19.69″ work area. It features dual HG-15 linear rails on the X and Z axes, combined with a lead screw on the Y-axis. This hybrid drive system, paired with powerful NEMA 23 motors, ensures extreme rigidity and precision across its large working envelope. While its top speed might match some of the smaller machines, its sheer size and robust construction mean it can handle larger stock and more ambitious projects with ease. If your projects are growing in scale and you need a machine that can keep up without breaking the bank for a full industrial model, the 6050 Plus offers significant capability.
And for those whose projects demand a truly expansive workspace, the Genmitsu PROVerXL 4×4 steps into the spotlight. This beast offers an incredible 51.18″ x 51.18″ (1300 x 1300mm) work area, making it ideal for large-format woodworking, furniture production, or even small-batch manufacturing. It features a robust ball screw drive system on all axes, alongside linear rails and closed-loop NEMA 23 stepper motors. What you get is professional-grade precision and power, often capable of supporting dual 2.2kW water-cooled spindles (though the spindles are typically not included by default). If you’re tackling full-sheet materials or creating substantial pieces, the 4×4 provides the scale and performance you’ll need.
So, there you have it – a breakdown of SainSmart’s Genmitsu CNC lineup, categorized by price. Whether you’re a beginner testing the waters or a seasoned pro looking for a capable machine, there’s likely a Genmitsu CNC that fits your needs and budget!
